MUSI 2238 welcomes you! This is a performance course for qualified Yale College and School of Music musicians. All instruments (including voice) welcome.
The class focuses on the preparation and performance of contemporary chamber music works, emphasizing musical and idiomatic problem solving, as well as an opportunity for collaborative workshopping methods for new pieces written primarily by student composers for MUSI 2238 students (in collaboration with MUSI 4220 – Comp Seminar III, led by Dr. A and Konrad Kaczmarek).
Students learn about musical analysis through performance, leadership skills, artistic autonomy/the discovery of one’s own voice, productional planning, performance as a visual medium, arrangements, extended techniques, and the performer’s role in bringing to life a new piece.
